Ben Millar Cole is a photographer working at the intersection of visual arts and technology, blending sculptural composition, digital image-making, and traditional printing techniques to explore the evolving relationship between human and machine creativity.

His latest project After Wall uses lenticular prints to translate a sustained creative journey—spanning his own photographs, conversations, books, and iterative experimentation with AI—into physical form. Beginning with Jeff Wall's staged photographs, the work moves from screen to sculpture through AI style transfer and lenticular printing, transforming digital processes into tactile objects that shift as viewers move past them. The lenticular prints function as souvenirs of this collaborative passage, capturing not just finished images but the experiments, glitches, and accumulated influences that shape them. By relocating AI-generated imagery into physical space that requires viewer movement, After Wall positions AI as one element within a broader creative practice—a prompt for curiosity and play rather than an endpoint in itself.

In 2025, Cole was awarded a Realisation Grant from the Centre for British Photography to expand After Wall through research into large-format lenticular printing techniques and historical lenticular imaging. The project was also selected for the Doughnut W(H)ole Pavilion as part of The Wrong Biennale—a decentralised digital art event that connects artists and curators worldwide.

His work has been recognised with a Wallpaper* Design Award (2023) and featured in exhibitions at the California Museum of Photography, 10.14 and Palmer Gallery. He has also presented his work through artist talks at events including Paris Photo.

Photomonitor and Altered States magazine recently featured Millar Cole's Rip-Off - a psychosocial performance exploring identity, featuring a singular character - a puritanical, prize-fighting, gold-toothed employee gone gonzo.
